The coronavirus emerged in the last days of 2019 and has influenced the whole world as a global pandemic. The virus is decreasing considering the announced figures. According to the statement of the Ministry of Health, we are starting a controlled normalization process from the beginning of June. In the normalization process, it is planned to remove travel restrictions. But, since the coronavirus outbreak does not end, the abolition of these bans does not mean returning to the old days. As you often hear on TV screens, we now have "new normals". In this new period, we will have to continue to take various precautions even if we can travel to prevent the pandemic from coming back. Here are some of the measures that those who will travel during the normalization process should take.
Make habit using a mask
The coronavirus pandemic is under control in Turkey. But measures must continue until the outbreak ends. The use of masks is one of the most effective measures that can be taken against coronavirus. If you are going to travel in this period, the use of masks in public vehicles is a must. Even if you travel with your private vehicle, you should continue to use a mask as soon as you get off your vehicle. Although we are on holiday, we need to fulfil our responsibility to use the mask in populated environments.
Maintaining the social distance rule
If you are going to travel, you need to put at least 1.5-2 meters of physical distance between people in social life. On the street, in public transportation, in the area, you travel as well. The social distance rule helped to control the outbreak. So, continuing to show the same attention its complete termination is seen as a necessity.
Washing hands at every opportunity
We know that one of the most effective ways to prevent coronavirus is to wash our hands. Washing hands, with the use of masks and social distance, is now among the new normals of our lives. Thus, the travellers must disinfect after touching their hands with different surfaces or people. Hands must avoid contact with the face, eyes and mouth.
Avoid crowded environments unless it is compulsory
If you are going to travel during the normalization process, you should continue to avoid crowded environments. If you are going to use public transport while travelling, you can protect yourself and other people by taking precautions. You should also avoid entering crowded areas. You should spend time in environments where you can apply the social distance rule.
Postponing the travel plan if the patient is feeling
Travel restrictions will end in the normalization process. Yet, we cannot expect life to return to normal. So, if you feel sick or have been in a risky crowd, you have to postpone your trip. According to the Ministry of Health's statement, it is imperative the people who will use the planes and trains, report whether they are at risk or not. For this, a HES code will be obtained through the "Hayat Eve Sığar" application in all transportation processes. People will be able to show that they are not at risk, are not sick or in touch through this application.
Promoting immune system health
The health of our immune system has the same importance in protecting against the coronavirus pandemic. In this period, experts expressed at every opportunity that healthy and balanced nutrition and regular exercise should be done to support the immune system health. Thus, if you are going to travel, you need to strengthen your immunity with such healthy living habits.
