The information provided by the newspapers increased our mourning completely. I said, 'My children, you stay here. I want to go and share my grief and sorrow in the face of the loss of the great Atatürk.' I came to Istanbul entirely privately for this purpose. If I hadn't come, I wouldn't have been able to endure this eternal separation if I hadn't cried before the great man who had gone to this eternity. I came to Istanbul to do my duty to respect him. As soon as I arrived, I went to the palace. I stood in front of my great friend's coffin, bent over, cried. My pain is as high as the pain of the Turkish Nation. I wish you all the opportunity to present my condolences want to to the Turkish Nation I love."

6. General Mc Arthur, America

He was one of the greatest leaders of our time. He has contributed Turkey to be among the world's most forward-looking countries which it deserves. He also gave the Turks a sense of self-confidence and endurance, which is the cornerstone of a nation.
