What is mobbing?

A person, who is exposed to mobbing, loses reputation and is forced to leave the job as a result of it. Mobbing is intentional and can be exposed to any person regardless of demographic characteristics. Mobbing has severe effects between 6 and 15 months and may have lasting effects if exposed for 29-46 months. Thus, an intervention is absolutely necessary.

How to distinguish this behavior as mobbing?
Most people cannot distinguish the difference between certain behavior from mobbing. Mobbing should not be confused with instant issues or behavior. Mobbing is systematic and it can last up to 6 months. In addition to being systematic, it is also predicted to be intentional.
Mobbing develops as follows; first it appears as signs, these signs for some reason cannot be resolved, mobbing at this stage starts to cause financial and emotional harm, this harm results in decrease in performance, this decrease in performance becomes apparent, it is no longer possible to work and the last phase is experienced.
Why are we exposed to mobbing?

There are many reasons for exposure to mobbing, but the leading reason behind is that the individual may have a bright future, is intelligent and sensitive at the same time and is able to look at situations from different angles. These conditions will motivate the bully. These people with ill-judged, selfish and competitive behavior will cause the victim of mobbing to be reclusive and isolated. Some is able to get through this lightly. And others try to overcome this problem thru personal efforts.
What are the signs of mobbing?
The feeling of insecurity, the desire to work in another job, the difficulty of going to work, the loss of faith in the profession, the deterioration of communication with other people, the feeling of exhaustion, regret and ambition are among some of the disorders seen in mobbing victims.
What can be done legally and personally against mobbing?
There are many places to turn to after mobbing. District Human Rights Committees, Turkey’s Human Rights Association, Labor and Social Affairs, Parliament, Constitutional Court, BİMER, Ombudsman, Public Officials Ethics Committee are among the places to turn to in such case. Evidence such as e-mails, camera recording can be submitted in line with applying to these authorities. If the injustice is proved, the employment contract termination, severance pay or non-pecuniary compensation may be demanded after this stage.
