Established on April 23, 2005 by author Sunay Akın, Istanbul Toy Museum is one of Istanbul’s important museums. The museum displays distinguished examples of the toy history from the 1700s to date. The toys exhibited in the museum are from Sunay Akın’s personal collection gathered in more than 20 years from 40 different countries. This museum also became a source of inspiration for some other cities and districts including Antalya, Gaziantep, Ataşehir, Kartal, and Samsun to establish their own toy museums.
