11 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW TO MAKE A GREAT IMPRESSION

We meet dozens of new people every day. While we are trying to make a good impression on the people we meet, we want them to remember us as well. But with so much information, the person may misunderstand or not remember us. We need to pay attention to some things to make a good impression. Here are the things you should pay attention to for a great impression.

Share something

Share something

Do not talk about yourself constantly in order to leave a good impression.  This will make the person in front of you feel unimportant. Because the best way to be remembered and to leave a good impression is to share something with the other person. To have someone in front of you say “the person from last night said this about me” indicates that the communication was confrontational.

If you notice a good side, make sure to point it out

Due to social balances, some of us are not able to praise the person in front us. These are actually unearthly thoughts. Because very few of us do things without the worry of being liked. Therefore, without going to the extreme you could point out the person in front of you the good sides you have noticed.

Be a listener

Be a listener

If you want to leave a good impression, this should not be done through a single person. If you are amongst friends or in a meeting, you should not only listen to certain and ignore the rest. Try to listen to everyone, give feedback and share something.

Eliminate anything that distracts you

When people communicate with one another, they want the focus to be entirely on them. This is another way of saying ‘I care about you’ This means that when you are communicating, you should not be tend to your phone, you should not look at the monitor, you should establish eye contact.

Smile

Although feeling sad a human-specific feeling, nobody wants to see a negative person while communicating. Therefore try to be energetic, cheerful and positive. Smile so big that the person in front of you is happier than you.

Don’t be a superficial speaker

Don’t be a superficial speaker

People are always looking for something to be impressed of. So, talk about interesting things and events. When you are talking, a word, a sentence or a story are the main elements in a strong impression. Having someone say ‘I met someone last night and s/he told me the greatest story’ is something that would be memorable.

Try to be original

Originality is a perfect way to make a good impression. People search for different images during communication. Thus, try to be a little different. For example if someone asks ‘How old are you?’ Try to come up with something more creative then ’25’.

Be tolerant

The people who welcome selfish arrogant behavior are those are arrogant themselves. Because they are in search of a competitive environment, they will enjoy such behavior. But when we look at the percentage of these people, they are very few. That’s why arrogance irritate people or force them to not communicate. Thus, try to be tolerant and humble.

Do not speak about other peoples bad sides

People like to talk about other people about to whom they are close with. However, if one speaks about someone else when they first meet, this would not be taken kindly. This action would reduce the feeling of respect, greatly.

Know the persons name and address him/her with it

It is very important to address by name as well as eye contact. Use peoples names in your sentences. This is another way of saying ‘I know you and I am with you’.

Watch your body language

While the words coming out of your mouth say one thing, your body language says another. So you can learn as much as you can about body language. When you communicate, you should establish eye contact, and believe in the power of your body language.
